not one who was born in the possession of knowledge; I am one who is fond of
antiquity, and earnest in seeking it there. Learning without thought is labor
lost; thought without learning is perilous.

I think Confucius wants to emphasizes the important of striving hard to learn so that you can use what you learn to real life situation. And he also points out that before you decide on something you should think carefully before doing so.
